What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved procedure that uses cold temperatures to eliminate fat cells that are just below your skin. It is safe and effective, and it gives great results to both men and women. For anyone who wants a non-surgical option to get a more toned, sculpted look, CoolSculpting is a great option to transform your body.
Areas that CoolSculpting is FDA-approved to treat:
- Inner thighs
- Outer thighs
- Banana rolls
- Bra fat
- Love Handles
How does CoolSculpting work?
In a CoolSculpting procedure, you and your provider will identify the areas where you’d like to target unwanted fat. Then, your provider will use the CoolSculpting tool on the targeted area.
The cold temperature destroys the fat cells, and the fat cells respond by shrinking and disappearing. Once they’re gone, they don’t come back.
What will happen:
The CoolSculpting tool will use suction to pull up an area of fatty tissue and hold it between the chilling panels. You’ll sit and relax while the chilling panels are doing their work. Many patients read a book, watch TV, or work on their phone or computer during this time, which may last anywhere from 35-60 minutes. Then, when the time is up, the CoolSculpting machine will be turned off and you’ll go on your way.
What does it feel like to get CoolSculpting?
You can expect to feel a cold sensation when the CoolSculpting procedure first starts. This may feel a bit uncomfortable at first, but most people report that they don’t even notice it after a few minutes. CoolSculpting works by applying a controlled temperature that is cold enough to destroy the fat cells under your skin, but NOT cold enough to damage your skin. This works because fat cells are more sensitive to cold than skin cells. Fat cells respond to cold by shrinking and disappearing. Once they’re gone, they don’t come back.
You can also expect to feel a tingling or prickly sensation after the procedure is over and you are warming back up. However, once you go on your way, you’ll be able to conduct your normal activities and do whatever you would do on a typical day. There’s no downtime.
