Front Range Plastic & Surgery Debunks Facelift Myths

If you’ve been thinking about getting a facelift in Loveland or in the surrounding area, but you’re just not sure, we’re glad you’ve found the Front Range Plastic & Surgery blog. The facelift is one of the most popular procedures we perform here and we simply love hearing about the positive impacts this procedure has on people’s lives. Men and women alike love this procedure because it can help them to look as young as they feel.

Today we’re tackling a couple common misconceptions about facelifts. We never want you to make a decision based on misinformation!

  1. My face and skin will look stretched and artificial. Results of a facelift performed by the right surgeon, like our board certified Dr. Schutte, will be vastly different from the obviously “done” facelifts we saw so often on TV in the 80s and 90s. Today’s cosmetic facial rejuvenation procedures actually lift the skin and underlying tissues, utilize transferred fat from other areas of the body to plump hollow places, and also often include laser resurfacing of the skin to erase sun damage and restore elasticity. The result is beautifully firmer, tighter, natural-looking result that does not scream “plastic surgery.”
  2. The recovery will be long and painful. This was once true with recovery times from 6 to 8 weeks! However, this is now behind us. Facelift recovery time today is generally 10-14 days, with minimal discomfort.
  3. My scars will be noticeable. When you’re in the hands of a board certified plastic surgeon like Dr. Schutte, your scars will be well-placed and virtually undetectable. Unless you show someone where your scars are, no one will see them.
